ABOUT US

Mission

The West Colfax Business Improvement District’s seeks to improve the business environment and recast West Colfax Avenue as Denver's sustainable Main Street by:

  • bringing new businesses to existing spaces
  • promoting larger-scale investment through land assembly and sustainable development
  • sponsoring improvements to the ROW that encourage pedestrian usage and multi-modal transportation.

BID history
The BID was formed in late 2006 as an outgrowth of the West Colfax planning process in order to implement the goals of the West Colfax Plan. Among the first priorities of the BID was to promote the adoption of Main Street Zoning along West Colfax, which was formally adopted in April, 2007.

West Colfax in Flux

Major changes are coming to West Colfax.  Two of the biggest changes will occur by 2012: the opening of three new FasTracks West Corridor stations (shown here in context with bicycle connections to Auraria, Lodo and downtown) and St. Anthony's departure and redevelopment of its 16 acre site, major changes are coming.  At the BID, we are working hard to ensure that changes will benefit current residents and increase the diversity of businesses and incomes in the neighborhood.
